CAPI Volunteers
The Community Awareness Program for Immigrants (CAPI) helps newly arrived immigrants understand the laws and rights of Canadian citizens through workshops and one-on-one support.

Duties:

• Process surveys and intake forms
• Prepare workshop materials
• Research legal topics
• Prepare and deliver workshops on legal issues
• Translate and interpret for clients

Qualifications:

• Sensitivity to cultural diversity and women's issues
• Responsible and independent
• Non-judgemental
• Some background in Canadian administrative law would be beneficial but  not required
• Second (or third!) language would be beneficial but not required

Commitment:

CAPI Volunteer schedules are flexible and project-based
